About This Project

Security tells the story of a lonely security guard, working the graveyard shift in one of Africa’s most prestigious shopping centres. As he is dealing with the recent loss of his wife, he finds solace and security in a storefront mannequin. This film was chosen as one of five scripts with entries coming from across the African continent as part of Focus Features’ Africa First program. Written and directed by up and coming filmmaker Mark Middlewick and produced and developed by Mannequin Pictures, Security was shot on location in Johannesburg. The film started its festival run early in 2014, which has gone proven to be very successful thus far, with Security collecting quite a few awards from various film festivals.
